Get the most out of every dollar you spend -

Get the most out of every dollar you spend – Using rewards credit cards

We all have expenses, some more than others. Why not get something out of it? With so many reward credit cards out there that offer sky miles, hotel discounts, cash back, gas bonuses etc. we should all be taking advantage of these. If you shop around a little you can find the type of bonus you like best and the best offer that’s currently out there for that type of bonus.

If you own your own business you have an opportunity to really rack up the bonus points. I’ll use someone I know personally as an example. I know an electrician that owns his own business. When he gets a job he has to buy materials. The customer ultimately pays for the material as well has the labor but the gentlemen I know does have to lay out the initial funds for the materials. And we’re talking about jobs where the material costs alone may be a few thousand dollars. He’s in a fantastic situation here because he can quickly earn thousands of points toward a free trip or gas for the company truck with every job and the customer ends up paying for the materials anyway.

Even if you don’t own a business that requires you to put thousands of dollars every month on a credit card you still have an opportunity to earn some nice bonuses that you would not otherwise recieve unless you were using a bonus type credit card. If your car breaks down and you’ve got to pay $700 to fix it, you might as well earn some bonus points. If you’re doing any remodeling around the house there’s an opportunity to rack up some points.

But it doesn’t have to be big ticket items. Every dollar you spend with these credit cards earns points for you. Now, I’m not saying you should go on wild shopping sprees but we all have certain expenses. Things that we have to pay for one way or another. Things like groceries, gas, cell phone bills etc. These types of expenses are things that you buy every week or every month. Instead of paying for them with a credit card that doesn’t offer you anything other than a high interest rate, you could be paying for them with a credit card that will earn you a couple of free airline tickets to Hawaii, or a free week at a four star hotel, or cash back, or free gas.

Please spend your money responsibly. But if you have to spend the money, you might as well get something out of it.

Airline Credit Cards Are They Offering The Best Value?e

Airline Credit Cards Are They Offering The Best Value?e

There are more reward credit cards around now than ever before. There are cash back credit cards, points cards and American Express even have a new nectar card out. One of the long running popular rewards has been the airline credit card. These are offered by many of the main card providers and they offer as their reward scheme the chance to collect airmiles as you spend. Airmiles are an extremely popular reward as they can be redeemed on major airlines for free or upgraded flights. However, the question customers have to keep asking themselves in this respect is whether or not they offer the best value.

Looking at airline credit cards as a whole, they typically reward you with one airmile per pound spent. This seems fair enough but when you look at airmile redemption prices, you can see that it costs thousands of airmiles for even the shortest flights. For the vast majority of customers, it will take literally years to spend enough on the card to redeem a free flight, even within the UK. Some customers will be able to add these miles to ones they also collect on flights and in this way build up miles faster.

If you compare this to other rewards however, you may be forced to ask yourself if they are worth the hassle. First, compare this type of reward with similar rewards for using say a cash back credit card. While it will depend on the specific circumstances of your card, it may well be the case that you would have got back enough cash to buy a flight out right before ever getting enough miles to claim a free one.

Also, if you are paying high interest on an outstanding balance then airmiles will be the last thing you should be thinking of. Rather you should consider getting a good balance transfer card that will allow you to switch your balance to it and enjoy a substantial interest free period on the balance. This will likely save you far more than any reward scheme will b e worth to you. Also, you may want a card that gives you lower rates on purchases if you do not pay off your balance in full each month. As a general rule, if you dont pay off your entire balance in full each month, you should be more concerned with interest rates and balance transfer possibilities than reward schemes on credit cards you use.

Earn Rewards Every Time You Use Your Credit Card

As competition in the UK credit card industry has consistently increased in recent years, credit card providers have been searching for more and more ways to attract customers to their own package of products. Most have gone about this by dropping prices with credit card rates available today that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. It is now possible to find 0% credit card interest rates not only on balance transfers but also on purchases. While these rates may only be available for limited introductory periods of a few months, it is easy to see how prices have continued to drop across the market as credit card providers have been searching for new ways to attract customers.

One method that the credit card companies have been very keen to use to attract customers is by offering reward schemes and incentives. These schemes are generally targeted at the higher end of the market and wealthier customers and they will be of more interest to customers who usually pay off their entire credit card bills in full every month thus incurring no interest charges. This means that since these customers are already paying no interest, they will be looking for other feature that will make credit cards stand out and attract them. Reward credit cards are specifically designed for this purpose.

Reward credit cards will give you rewards based on the amount you spend on the credit card. You will generally find that there are three methods of accruing rewards. You will either be getting cash back on the card such as a certain percentage of everything you spend. Another method of rewarding customers will be to give them points or another form of token to collect. These points can then be redeemed for gifts such as luggage, aftershave and whatever else the credit card company can think of offering. While many of these reward schemes offer very attractive gifts and a great range of choices, it is probably preferable to have a cash back reward as then you can spend the money on whatever you like.

The final common method of reward is with airmiles. Airmiles are a very popular reward as most customers have reported that they love redeeming them for free flights or even flight upgrades to business or first class tickets. Whatever kind of reward credit card you opt for, look carefully at the amount or speed at which rewards will accumulate, for example some credit cards will offer you one air mile for every pound you spend while others will offer four. This is a big difference. Also make sure you take the other terms and conditions into account.

Recently, there has been a report published stating that many people are not using their loyalty points. This of course defeats the whole point of using a reward credit card. It was found that the most used rewards credit card was in fact Goldfish and with many other credit cards it was found that only 10 per cent used their reward points.

Online Credit Card – Prepaid Debit Card

The numbers vary on how many credit cards each person carries. I’ve seen it stated anywhere from five to fifteen counting bank cards, gas cards, and department store charge cards. But there are still those hold outs, people who don’t have any credit cards at all.

If you’re one of these lucky people and reading this on the internet, chances are you’ve seen something online that you wanted to buy, but the problem was you needed at least an online credit card to pay for it. That’s where the prepaid debit card can come in handy for those wanting to avoid credit card debt.

With a regular credit card, the issuer lends the money to the consumer who in turn pays for the charge at a later date. There are those who pay the entire bill due upon receipt of their monthly statement. However, many of us run a balance each month and pay an affordable portion of the bill and are charged an agreed upon interest for the outstanding balance. Believe me when I say, it’s easy for that balance to creep up before you finally realize it’s in the thousands of dollars of an unsecured debt you then owe.

For those of you who don’t want to take a chance on getting yourself in that situation, you avoid credit cards completely. But that can be a problem if you want to take advantage of so many outstanding offers available on the internet. Without an online credit card you may want to look into a prepaid debit card.

With a prepaid debit card you deposit the funds with the financial institution in advance. You receive a card that looks the same as any other credit card and you can use it just like a regular card wherever their logo is displayed. The difference is the amount charged is then taken from the credit balance you maintain with the issuer.

Many of you don’t like to carry that much cash around. I know with me, I can go thru cash like water. But if I have to charge it, even with a prepaid debit card, I think twice. Plus I can keep better track of where that money goes. Another advantage with a prepaid debit card is it’s accepted at all ATM machines so that you have continuous access to your funds just like cash.

So if you are one of those who has managed to escape this long without a credit card and would like to take advantage of the new freedom of shopping from comfort of your own home on the internet, you might take a moment of your time to shop online for a credit card or at the least, a prepaid debit card. With a prepaid debit card, rather than you paying interest, you receive interest on your credit balance.
